Hi Nikkidev,The dorsal bumps

Hi Nikkidev,

The dorsal bumps and head are quite distinctive and are right for Early Thorn, some of the other close relatives are a bit like it(Purple Thorn is a lot more knobbly) but not so close as to be confusable. Your larva is a perfect match for those in ukleps down to the curved white lines underneath the bumps on the back.

Cathal.

Squishy Stick!

Thanks for the info. I nearly didn't see it and rubbed it off the Hazel twig before I realised it was a bit squishy! I loved the way it could rear its head and look like a bent twig.
