Have not seen one of these before. Could it be a Four-spotted Chaser?

Just read that it is "one of the commonest Irish dragonflies". Guess I'm not very observant!
Very very late for a Four-spot, perhaps a late starter owing to cold spring.

There were several about today but only one sitting still.
Try to find one in the Spring (early to mid May, if warm) they are superb then with nice bright colours.
