Fruticose lichen or moss??

Observed: 24th January 2010 By: dpt27dpt27’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

Although interested in birds, I was curious for an i.d on the lichen or is it a moss?
Thanks. Dene

Could be two lichens

They are definitely lichens rather than mosses. The thin one with some clear branches showing near the tips (e.g. near the birds breast) is probably one of the Usneas, but I think there may be something else by the lower foot. This could be a Ramalina, something like R. farinacea perhaps.

Would be worth a closer look as fruiting bodies or granular structures on the thalli are important for ID.
