Hi Bassrockcats,George here from butterfly forum, great to see this as I fill feeders all winter on Torness estate ,often with a close up trailcam, and niger loving Redpolls would be very welcome !
Glad you can see my photos as I wasn't able to upload them on butterfly site so was glad I could here. We had Redpolls for many weeks infact I have a photo of them sharing feeder with Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Siskins and Bramblings. We have been lucky this summer we even have a woodpecker and squirrel now.
I can't upload to butterfly site either,or actually can't be bothered as it involves resizing .
Had a single Redpoll feeding on nettle near the Torness feeders last winter, which just added insult.
BTW when I clicked location on your rock pipit it wasnt on the coast ?
Reason I was checking,it is not unusual to get Littoralis the Scandinavian sub sp. on EL coast.
I used the Dunbar postcode perhaps that wasn't accurate enough. I took the photo on the beach beside golf course
easier to use the map and just click on exact spot
