Description:

Growing on the margin of our pond is this robust umbellifer. It took me a while to identify and I'm still not 100% sure - it was the sparsely arranged paw-like leaflets which made up my mind. Apparently it contains a poison called oenanthetoxin, which triggers spasmodic convulsions and possibly death! Lovely!
