Seen in woodland, growing on a dead (but still standing) tree - possibly an oak?

Can anyone help with identifying this species, please? I can't see anything like it in my fungi identification book.
A Pleurotus. Their caps are often more funnel-shaped than this, but the way margins and what little I can see of the gills are a bit suggestive of the genus.
Fungi are tricky - you need to post photos of the underside of the cap, and the stems. Also, notes about odour, cap texture, stem "break-ability" are all helpful.
