Description:

Growing with Agrostemna githago, Centaurea cyanus, Gebionis segetum and Papaver rhoeas, in an area which was dug over this spring.
I've seen it there in a previous year (I think without the other species) but I think it was absent last year. A mix of the other species (and Anthemis) is present at a few locations at Ness Botanic Gardens, and may have been sown this year. The alkanet may have come up from a seed bank after the disturbance of the soil, but as it's spread through the same linear bed I infer that it was originally introduced as an element of a seed mixture.
06 Sep 2013: It turns out that the last time I saw this (here) was 23 May 2012.
