Description:

Overnight five or six of these boletes emerged in my woods. Cap size about 10cms diameter, quite a thin stem, overall height maybe 8 cms. This one is round but others are less clearly spherical. All caps dry when I saw them. Sandy soil under mature oak trees - generally they preferred spots under ferns or undercanopy shrubs. Not a good match for anything in my book - any ideas?
