Thanks, Tim, for this clarification. I'm sure you're right, but my copy of Rose and my Collins guide do say that the leaves of Rough Hawk's-beard (can) clasp the stem. However, I take your point about the glandular hairs and this is a useful aid to future id, so thanks for that. Try as I may, I cannot make out whether the fruit are flattened or not, even under my microscope!
