Description:

A brown, yellowish and black dragonfly observed patrolling in the garden and then resting on the grapevine stems. Quite large in size, perhaps 8-10cm long.

The yellow triangle at the base of the abdomen helps identify this female Migrant Hawker.

Thanks for the pointer to the correct identification. I see that the S2 mark is also described on wikipedia as looking like a "golf tee" shape and that this is clearly visible in my photograph.
