Far left in the first, bottom left corner in the second. Terrible pictures, I know, but it was moving so fast this was as good as it got.

ID comment

The wide antehumeral stripes, the blue tail segments and the spots on segments 9 and 10 which are fused into bars all suggest the male Southern Hawker.

Impressive, as ever!

Looking in the book, it now seems rather obvious. Hey ho. Thank you. I'll get there in the end....

There were loads of these on Dartmoor last week too, but again they were moving too fast.
