Help needed please with identification of this fly
No interactions present.
Also known as the snail-killing fly. Larvae and possibly adults eat snail. I think it has been used for biological pest control.

Very little is known of this species, I think. Unusually for the Sciomyzids, it is a species of dry habitats, especially calcareous woodlands. For that reason, I doubt it has been used for biological control of snails, though I am not sure. Other Sciomyzids certainly have, as Mark says.
