Large Yellow Underwing mystery

The moth pictured was "rescued" from the surface of our pond but did not live for very long afterwards. However, I then started to discover parts of moths on the floor of my almost enclosed car port. These were mainly heads attached to a single wing. I collected these for the photo and counted 14 in total. The mystery is what is eating the moths bodies? I found a similar photo on RSPB forum about Winterbourne Downs where it was put down to Brown Long-eared bats. Does anyone have any further comments.
