Description:

Active on Broad-Leaved Ragwort. Shield-like thorax, elytra punctate. Relatively large eyes, dark olive colour throughout.

Wet areas fit with this species

Check it out. Size should be another clue. Blethisa is about the 10-15mm mark, carabus 16-23mm.

The granules on the carabus are in nice sharp rows as well, compare with the ruffled texture of blethisa and its obvious punctures.

I've been given a very good site to find blethisa - but I seem to have a blind spot for it! Now I wonder if I'm not looking high enough on vegetation....
