hi ulva lactuca is the most likely id but there are actually quite a few ulva species! so cant be certain
To find out about what's going on in the south west check out http://www.ispot.org.uk/forum/8409
It's a shame, isn't it, that we can't call a spade a spade any longer?
If we carry on like this all the Robin posts might have to be downgraded to Erithacus!
See - http://www.gbif.org/species/6091259 & https://data.nbn.org.uk/Taxa/NHMSYS0020303036
and http://www.gbif.org/species/2492462 and Erithacus rubecula witherby - records for which I cannot find.
How can we be certain of anything?
You'll get my gist but no fretting please!
I'd better polish my field DNA sequencer.
Anyway, I'm intending to get to the south coast over the winter specifically to get some green seaweeds to have a bash at them now I have the Book.
