Description:

Found a buckthorn with all its leaves curled back, some looking like galls. On unravelling the leaves found this tiny black caterpillar inside.Any ideas? Found reference to Trichochermes walkeri, but not sure it is this, and found no larval pics.

Two different organisms here

The gall is caused by T walkeri, but the caterpillar looks like a tortrix species, rather like Timothy Tortrix in fact.
