Found this little fungi by the side of a path in woods, growing on its own, any suggestions?

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

and has become host to a yellow mould - another type of fungus.
This - in my limited experience - happens most often to the bolete fungi (they have pores rather than gills, the Penny Bun being a classic example); but I wouldn't like to guess what this might have been when it was fresh.
