Difficult

The isidia are not confined to raised warts and this might be a pale form of X. verruculifera. To use the analogy on my website, perhaps "broccoli" rather than "cauliflowers". This group of Xanthoparmelia species are difficult! Still waiting for someone to invent a portable, instant t.l.c. meter.

Thank you

I've been astonished at the range of lichens on the moors here, and it has furthered my resolve to do an introductory lichen course soon. Unfortunately I couldn't make the FSC ones this year.

Your detailed notes are much appreciated.
