Description:

Small aquatic, long tail, 2 pairs of legs at front, dark colour, could possibly be eyes at front of head.

My guess is

Larvae of one of the Odonata.

Hi Chris and thanks. We do get Red Damselflies around the pond. I'm not sure if they are large or small, but it is likely to be them. Bev.
