Orange and brown fungus

Observed: 20th August 2013 By: scyrenescyrene’s reputation in Fungi and Lichensscyrene’s reputation in Fungi and Lichens

A fairly large, amorphous fungal body, chestnut brown in the centre and orange round the edge. Firmly attached to the ground, by a path in open countryside (not under trees). Underside/edges covered in pores.

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
