Wolf's Milk (Lycogala epidendrum), but that is usually "neater" in appearance. On googling images, I find similar pictures of another Slime Mould (Myxomcetes), Reticularia splendens, found in the UK. So that's a possibility, I guess.
Quite a few of the slime moulds go through this stage. You would need to wait for it to mature before there is much chance of an id.
