A large number

of "hen-pecked" butterflies noted this year. As mentioned in a previous post, this is possibly due to very low numbers of other invertebrates as a result of last year's disastrous weather. Maybe fledgeling birds have been hard-pressed to find food.

I also have noticed many

I also have noticed many butterflies that have been pecked and also the lack of visible beetles etc. There has been a large number of 'whites' about for two weeks, far more than usual.
