Seen on Thursley Common on 14th August. The fly is about 30 mm long.
No interactions present.
If you edit and change the category to invertebrate, more and more knowledgeable people will see it.

A fantastic fly. I live too far north for these (Yorkshire), so have never seen one...very jealous!

On the boardwalk across the National Nature reserve. Weather dry, 21 deg C, occasional sun. Many insects and lizards warming themselves on the boardwalk.
