Can you identify what each beetle is please?
The one on the left is Abax parallelepipedus, and the one on the right is the 'other' violet ground beetle, Carabus problematicus.

Thanks for this information. I had not gone right down to the bottom of the page and had not seen your comment. I have left the '2nd' beetle as it is as the ID had been entered as you have stated.
