I discounted Lesser Hawkbit largely because Rose states "on dunes, dry sandy or calc gslds" and the site (an uncultivated field/meadow adjacent to a freshwater loch) was wet and generally acidic.

This would have much hairier heads, but I am not sure of the ID. I cannot see if the hairs are forked.
I agree! We should have a Leontodon saxatailis and/or Hypochaeris radicata category
To have categories with 2 or more species in would invite chaos. Silence is better.
