Poland says ...

... trifid (lobed) in quadriradiata and unlobed in parviflora.

Interestingly...

...the literature seems to disagree.

I've just checked Poland and yes it does say unlobed in parviflora, yet both Rose and Stace (Field flora) say unlobed in quadriradiata!

On searching the web to try to resolve this discrepancy I have found an article on difficult species from BSBI news that includes Galinsogas (http://archive.bsbi.org.uk/BSBINews114.pdf). (Galinsogas are species pair number 10).

Based on this article, the inflorescences and stem hairs on my plant seem to support quadriradiata, whereas the stem leaves possibly favour parviflora. On balance, I’m still leaning towards my initial ID.

I will add a third photo which shows the stem hairs slightly better though still possibly not quite sharp enough.

The disagreement in the literature ...

... might explain why I have had inconsistent determinations of single populations in different years.

The BSBI News article looks helpful.
