Final Instar

Hi Clare,
Pembrokeshire, (oh happy days), the county of my origin. Born in Haverfordwest, hale from Hakin, a suburb of Milford (Haven). I could go on but I have digressed enough.

Back to Troilus luridus. Your image is of the final instar stage, the one depicted in A woods painting on BB is the forth instar. Note the wing buds on yours extend further than the first mark.

Hi Mick Thanks for the input

Hi Mick
Thanks for the input as I hadn't noticed the detail in the wing buds. I often refer to those illustrations on BB - what a fantastic resource.

Yes Pembrokeshire is beautiful - nothing wrong with a bit of digression! I know Hakin and Haverfordwest well. I'm the other side, near Narberth but have worked all over the County. Strangely enough am coming over your way in October as my in-laws live in Boston, Lincs. Bit of a contrasting landscape!

tis a small world

Extremely different landscape, you cant even compare the coastline. Have relatives that way, Kirton. Have a good trip,
