Striking orange / tan colour. Approx 30cm across at the point of contact and 4-6cm thick. Growing on a living apple tree about 60cm above the ground.

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

No, I don't have any photographs of the pores and, as the observation was last year, I'll have to wait for it to re-appear! The point on the trunk has been quite a regular fruiting site for the fungus.
