When I tried a mammals quiz ...

... I was offered photographs of scat, footprints, a newborn hedgehog, and even a beaver-chewed bit of wood - so you can see that taxonomic names are used for items further from the mature organism that plant fruits.

(This was supposed to be the simplest level of quiz as well.)
