The Small Heath has a light patch adjoining the darker area on the hind underwing and the orange area on the forewing underside almost touches the trailing edge of the wing. On this specimen there is a wide brown border running up that trailing edge which is consistent with the Meadow Brown.

Ah. I see what you mean. however, doesn't my photo have quite a lot of orange on the top wing to be meadow brown?
Don't forget you are looking at the underwing, the wings are closed tightly together. If you look at the link you'll see some very similar images.
