Size varied between 2 and 7 cm diameter (estimated), these ones at the larger end.
C mollis then is the most likely. It is often smooth on the top but also has this scaled form occasionally. The upper surface has a gelatinous skin which should peel quite easily.
I'll be back there on Saturday and I'll see if I can give one or two of them a peel.
