Small, short, yellow flowered rose with very spiny stem and dark red hips growing at roadside grass in coastal bay.
No interactions present.
The flower and leaves are two separate species the leaves are from a Rose and the flower is an Asteraceae, possibly a Hawkweed, which must have grown up through the rose.
Many thanks Steve - I didn't think of that! No wonder I couldn't find it in my field guides.
