Description:

Found on Elder at woodland edge brown ear shaped fruiting bodies in small or large groups on dying or dead branches/trunks of broad leaved tree's favouring Elder quite common fruiting bodies appear in late summer and autumn but I have found them throughout winter if it has not been too cold.
