Hi Clare, Spinach and Barred

Hi Clare,

Spinach and Barred Straw are readily confused. Keep at it. Ive willed many a Barred Straw to be a Spinach but I cant make it happen!

Ha!

I've done that with many a plant too... (well, not wishing it was spinach, but something unusual at least..).
These moths are the result of a weekend course I've recently done on moth ID. Really enjoyed it and its not so onerous once you can begin to put them in families...... long way to go though!
Thanks for help.

Yes Clare, The Geometridae

Yes Clare,

The Geometridae and Noctuidae are by far the biggest families and the most daunting groups at the start but like everything it gets easier with time and perseverance- fascination is probably the most useful tool! Its a long way for all of us but a fascinating trip. Keep posting your finds!
