Or "Brittlegill" as they're sometimes called. Can you say what was growing around it - trees especially?

Hiya - the trees are mainly

Hiya - the trees are mainly managed forestry - mature pines - possibly some larch. Other than that only tufted bog grass on a deeply rutted track. Hope this helps. Thank you very much.

The presence of Pines

Hints at (not exclusively) The Sickener (R. emetica). This fruits in summer and autumn.
