Various parasites in the genus Cotesia do not seem to be in the iSpot species database. See http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/14460 for example.
Gavin Broad mentions that the lists are widely available, would it be possible to incorporate them here?
I'd be really happy to add more if there is a need for them and someone can point me at a UK checklist of Braconidae. Like a lot of the parasitica, which are poorly studied by the recording community and which have rapidly changing taxonomy, it hasn't been possible to keep the database up to date. But if anyone has a record of anything that isn't in the database then I will add it very quickly for you.
I will add "Cotesia ofella (Nixon, 1974)" for you now and pass the details to Martin. Perhaps he could add the relevant data in to the iSpot database and then your record could be linked in to the NBN Gateway dataset after the next updates? :)
Unfortunately the link to the checklist in the conversation at http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/14460 is broken. I'm guessing it is still on the NHM site somewhere so will try and find it later.
I'll chat with Gavin - he's 3 floors above me and down a long corridor but he's used to me bothering him with questions about ichneumon taxonomy ;)
I'm all for adding them into the database but I might have to give greater priority to individual species of importance, rather than importing a huge checklist of all the names & synonymy that takes weeks to ratify.
Unless I'm missing something (quite likely) C. ofella does not appear to be in the iSpot database yet.
