Description:

I have had a couple of looks at the Northwich Woodlands (and Weaver Navigation) area - 11th July and 1st August - which has a variety of taxa associated with salt-rich and lime-rich soils, from lime beds and salt springs. My rate of finding new taxa had become fairly slow, though I did find Datura stramonium and Dipsacus laciniatus in Staffordshire in July, and added 3 Rubus section by dint of using Stace on brambles; by adding a new area I found 9 new taxa.
Low growing shrub growing in glade in woodland over lime waste. The "berries" confused me, but I think that they're galls, possibly caused by the sawfly Pontania collactanea.
