Agree with the ID but I don't think it's usually called a leaf beetle is it? It's in the family Tenebrionidae, which as a group are sometimes called darkling beetles, but that name doesn't seem very appropriate for this species either!

I wonder is it because it is nocturnal activity of the larval feeding habit ?? ( feed on nectar and pollen on open-structured flowers such as Daisies or members of the Carrot family. The larvae eat decaying plant material in leaf litter)
