Colour change

A good illustration of the effects of camera settings on the appearance of an insect. If possible it is well worth locking your white balance and exposure settings with a grey card to give a consistent photographic impression.

Thanks David,

You might have to elaborate a little on the locking procedure for me?

A very good article, although you will need to adapt it a bit for the specific settings on your model of camera.

Cheers David,one thing I do

Cheers David,

one thing I do notice about the compact digital I am using is the differrence in hue of the image I am seeing on the screenand in the pics taken if I am pointing the camera skywards or 'groundwards'. I can achieve a warmer image sometimes if I first point the camera at the sky and then bring it down to the subject- following this the view on the screen reverts to cold and colourless and I have to point it back up to the greater light source again to warm the image being seen on screen.

I'll check out the link, thanks.

Cathal.
