It appears to be one of the Kittens but which one I cant say- I havent got any personal experience of them but it would be worth a look at them in a book or on UKmoths.
As I said above I'm not familiar with the Kittens but agreement based on the irregular shape of the leading edge of the central crossband close to the costa. Poplar Kitten is smooth there and it doesnt look like Alder Kitten.
many thanks for your assistance - i took another look when i originally thought it was a NTT i knew it was wrong. haveing reviewed i'm now convenced with sallow.
