OK, it isn't likely to be aurata from the front upperwing. Some would say you can't tell, but I don't think aurata ever shows this much orange, and the purple colour is usually much darker. You really need to see the hindwing, both upper and underside though to rule out ostrinalis, which is a lot rarer.
I think you could send this in as a likely purpuralis though.
