Great. This does look like C. hortensis. The white lip to the shell distinguishes it from C. nemoralis which has a dark lip.
Were they all the same? There is interesting variation in the colours and banding patterns of these snails in most populations. You can find out more and take part in a study of this at www.evolutionmegalab.org
