Bats

I am currently in the process of putting together an exhibition all about bats and have realized Ispot is going to be the fastest way to confirm facts and info, so forgive me for asking questions that seem obvious, and there may be a few.
First question...
Would it be safe to say that,in the UK,bats
are our most numerous mammal?

See

See http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/pdf/pub03_areviewofbritishmammalsall.pdf. Even if that is wildly wrong, there is no possibility that the total of all our ~16 species of bat would even come close to the numbers of some other single species.

Bats

Roughly 1100 species world wide. Wildly wrong?

Just come across a new statistic.

Globaly, bats make up almost a quarter of all mammal species (publication - The bat detective)

How does this stat equate, percentage wise, with the UK?

Come on you bat experts!!!

20%

Wiki claims that bats answer for 20% of all
mammal species in Great Britain.

Any offers?
