Description:

Photos show the top and underside of a Hawthorn leaf with a gall. I think the gall is caused by Dasineura crataegi.
Edit: changed to match RHoman's ID. Many thanks.
Edit: Group changed from Invertebrates to Fungi & Lichens

Wading

I have agreed, not because I recognise it but because I have read ALL that's available on the web! (except this stuff http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/name/Gymnosporangium which I am just beginning to wade through!)
I have a feeling now, that a change of group in needed Ian - Fungi? Oh yes!
