Pod length

How long are the seed pods? they look short and dumpy in photos.

... therefore palustris rather than sylvestris.

Thanks for this. The three biggest pods are 6, 8 and 9 mm, still green but probably not going to grow much more, and they are about the same length as their stalks. So yes, I agree palustris is the best fit.
