Four of these were on our diseased elm tree in the evening, and they were still there the next morning. They crawl and fly. They are at least 2 inches long.

Yet another area where my ignorance is pretty much complete! Have a look at -
Looks likely to me, but it's a guess.
And also, change the category to "invertebrates please - that way more of the experts will see it (they often use filters to cut down the number of displayed observations).
