Small, about 3mm-5mm, orangey yellow ant, nest a mound of earth in field. (2 nests within 12cm of each other)

Yellow Meadow Ant

Yes, I think if you have a yellowish ant in an earth mound in a field it must be Lasius flavus. Some fields can have an extraordinarily high density of large nests, which is taken as an indication that the field has been undisturbed for a long time.
