The only other possibility is

The only other possibility is Juniper Carpet but the straight leading edge to the central dark band and the several dark streaks at the apex of the wing all indicate Cypress Carpet.

carpet sp moth!

Cypress Carpet

often show these abberations but they alwaya have the 3 dark fingers at the apex of each wing, as can be clearly seen in the photo.

I have studied the carpets and really agree with your ID of Cypress. It matches quite well to British Moths by Chris Manley; and we also have Leylandi in our garden!
