European Ground squirrel

No doubts that this is a European ground squirrel, nothing else looks like it in the region. Cute looking mammals but very destructive.

For completeness sake could you edit the original post to include the English name of European ground squirrel please.

Souslik

English name may come up as European souslik instead. This species listed as 'Vulnerable' by the IUCN - unusual for a squirrel species to be of conservation concern.

Thank you, yes, they look very cute. They try to keep them in enclosed area within the National Park as much as they can...:) and some of our birds of prey love them
