Seen in Scotland yesterday. Noticeable blueness between body segments both on upperside and underside. In woodland near river gorge.
No interactions present.
Formerly in genus Geotrupes. Generally thought of as a dung beetle, but its larvae can be reared on rotting leaf litter, suitably processed by the parent.
